“This is Going to Hurt You More than Me.”

February 5, 2020

WHEN: 02/05/2020
QIC: Brotox and Bump Draft
PAX: Chum, Marky Mark, Boyardee, Stubbs, Nitro (respect), Cousin Vinny, Paper Jam, Buffay, Pookie, Dr Phil, Duplo, Splashback

I wasn’t planning on Qing at #bighouse again until the spring. I think that it’s good to have a variety of PAX leading, plus I just Q’d three weeks ago. We need Q’s, so I contacted Brotox to see if he wanted to co-Q, and I believe that it worked out well.

I unsuccessfully tried a 7 of diamonds workout during my VQ last year at #thewall. To be honest, I was too adventurous with that workout. Although in my defense, the PAX were heartily smoked because we ran around the entirety of the wall with sizable rocks, while doing burpees, etc.

My middle daughter and I scoped out the workout location yesterday evening, which gave birth to this morning’s workout.

Warm-up: Kimbolton: Mosy from the AO to Kimbolton Street, twice. Kim1 20 merkins; back, I believe, 30 SSH; Kim2: Squats and stretching

ME: It was more a rectangle than the preferred square. First Round: 7 burpees at each post (4x); crab walk to second post (PAX already huffing and puffing); bear crawl short side; mosy to final post;

Second Round: 14 jump squats (4x) then bear crawl to next post; Pookie counted one round and I believe that Buffay counted one round, too; Michael Dukakis to final post

Third and final BD round: 21 Mountain Climbers in cadence (4x); Originally, I was going to complete four rounds with the third being 21 American Hammers in cadence; however, the PAX seemed to be smoked. Honestly, I find it difficult to count out mountain climbers, especially in cadence. In the future, I will add a fourth round to this exercise…FYI

Brotox took over contributing a superset of 10 SSH IC and 10 merkins SC, x 10 sets.

Side note: Markymark said that he was ready to go back to my Q, since Brotox’s was so tough. I’ll keep that in mind, MM.

For Mary: 25 American Hammers IC, 25 Box Cutters IC, and 25 Freddy Mercurys IC.

COT: I spoke about the need for fellowship, as my youngest has been sick lately. In fact, it’s not a regular sickness, but something that we and our doctors are taking very seriously. I look forward to the morning workouts–it’s probably the favorite part of my day. And I hope that it’s yours too.
