BOM

  • So about 3 weeks ago my son had something happen to him that has really affected him. My wife and I still can’t figure out what it was but now every morning from the time he wakes up until the time we drop him off at school he just cries non-stop and says that he doesn’t want to go school and doesn’t want to leave us. He has always been pretty attached to us but never to this extent. (who can blame him though with an awesome set of parents like us right?) Anyways, I think just being a normal dad/man I just want to do anything I can to “fix” this problem. Unfortunately everything we have tried hasn’t helped and my wife and I have been really struggling with this. So the other day at the playground we are talking to a couple other parents and mention this and it turns out, we aren’t the only ones who have this problem. The conversation went from my wife and I not having a clue, to being able to empathize with others parents, share tips on how to help, and more importantly, not feeling alone in this struggle. Obviously my wife and I still have a battle in front of us but I share this because I think it emphasizes how important it is for us as men to share with each other no matter how awkward or difficult that may seem. You just never know if the PAX next to you is struggling with the same thing and what a huge help hearing your story may be. So don’t keep it in fellas. Until next time!
