Thunderstorms put the proceedings in doubt, but we made the call to move ahead while keeping everything under the concession stand. YHC ran to The Piranha to borrow some cinderblocks, as the new arrangement would require some improv. Six of us gathered, then Fiddlestick went to go wake up Max Power, who had fallen asleep in his car after having arrived at 0425 for the cancelled EC ruck.

Great to have a surprise appearance from Banjo, usually a Carpex guy but no stranger to Churham.

With Irish playlist cranking along, we got going.

Standard warm-up then were able to do one of the activities previously planned, spelling out S-A-I-N-T P-A-T-R-I-C-K*. Themes aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I like doing this every now and then because it compels a perusal of the Exicon for new stuff.

Flora with cinder blocks, aka Lazy Dora on steroids – As partner sets, complete 100 merkins, alternating sets of 10 while partner planks. complete 200 weighted lbc in alternating batches of 20 while partner attempts to keep six inch hold with weight overhead. 300 goblet squats while other partner low squat holds. Cut this last bit short as again YHC’s old man hips were acting up and if you can’t do it, don’t Q it. Even still, it was agreed this was pretty rough!

Shifted to a standard Cindy progression: Overhead press, bent-over rows, curls – Two sets of 30 each, one set of 20 each
