THE THANG:
“11s” Ladder with Pull-ups + Burpees (10-1, 9-2, 8-3, and so on).
We ran counterclockwise around the track stopping at each playground to complete one rung in the ladder. We encouraged travelling coupons and rucks-on to ratchet up the intensity, when needed.
A solid pace was maintained by all, and the fun part about planting the shovel at new AO”s is “really getting to explore the studio space.” We did just that. After finishing the burpee/pull-up ladder, Avalanche passed the baton to Beano who instructed the group to pair up. The PAX then jogged to the backside of the track for a proper introduction to Strawberry Hill. Each pair took turns partner carrying down the length of the hill and then switched places to partner carry again back to the starting point. This was done twice.
The PAX then spread out along the base of the hill and completed ten backwards runs to the top. At the top of the hill each time the PAX did one burpee, then jogged back to the bottom of the hill to complete another burpee. Note: This entire exercise was completed in cadence and guys ran in place while waiting for the signal to move from Beano.
The group then jogged back to the other side of the track and paired up once again with their original partner. One partner grabbed a piece of metal and completed 15 goblet/sumo squats while the other partner jumped rope. Each partner then swapped equipment with both person completing 15 squats and AMRAP jump rope. The same sequence was completed again, but this time both partners completed 12 weighted squat presses (full extension at top) and AMRAP jump rope.

SOFT LAUNCH OBSERVATIONS + DEBRIEF:

  • The dumpster pickup was ~0500, and we appeared to be parked out of the way and in a fine spot; continue to park in the spaces in the West lot (bus lot) accessible via George King Road directly across the street from Al Acqua Drive.
  • ~0545 a couple staff/cars arrived at the South loading dock where they witnessed, with ample curiosity and amazement, peak F3 wind-sucking and a solid playlist pumping on the speakers.
