The Dice of Doom

Yesterday, we were all treated to an inspiring, virtue-laden Q at Kings Dominion by our very own Singlet. This included a round of choir singing and some personal affirmations.

Today, YHC decided to explore the other side of that coin, namely vice (Not to be confused with our PAX Vice). The vice that was chosen today was gambling. As we warmed up, I asked that each PAX get right with their relationship to Lady Luck, because they were going to need it. This was a lie. While there was some elements of chance involved, the PAX forgot the first rule of gambling….The house always wins.

Warm-Up:

The Thang: Dice of Doom

Some of my favorite Q accessories are my white board and the giant six-sided set of dice. PAX were paired into groups of 2 (7 groups total). Each group would roll the die and then do whatever the whiteboard instructed them to do. There was an element of gambling though. If the PAX wished, they could do the exercise as stated. Or, they could re-roll and if they rolled a 2-9, only do half the stated exercises. If they rolled a 10-12 however, they had to double them. I wasn’t sure how many groups would take advantage of this opportunity, but apparently, the PAX were willing and able to put it all on the line. There were definitely some cries of agony when a group discovered they owed 60 burpees instead of 30 or had to do two sets of bear crawl burpees.

Exercises per roll:
2- 30 burpees
3- 20 Hand Release, 20 Diamond, and 20 clap Merkins
4- Run 1/2 lap. Do 10 Merkins at each corner
5- Run 1 full lap
6- 30 Carolina Dry Docks, 30 Flutter Kicks (cadence)
7- 20 Merkins, 20 Air Squats, 20 WWII situps
8- 30 Heels to Heaven, 30 Jump Squats
9- Lunge walk full field (run back)
10- 60 count balls to wall, 60 count people’s chair
11- 18yd bear crawl, 16 burpees, 18yd crawl bear
12- 60yd bear crawl, 60yd crawl bear

After each roll and exercise is completed, the PAX group will run 1/2 recovery lap. This was repeated for 30 minutes of fun.

Disclosure: The house always wins. If you “lose” the chance roll, you have to do double. If you “win” the chance roll, you get done faster and have to roll again sooner. In the end, everyone did 30 minutes of hard labor. Better luck next time!
