The much ballyhooed launch of The Bullpen finally arrived this morning. Questionable spacing and innuendo were rampant the last week as the pax eagerly anticipated the newest Durham AO.
16 pax emerged in the dirty Durham air for a tri-Q special from YHC, Troller, and Tater Tot. After a quick welcome, the pain began…
Warmup:
SSH (because you can”t have an F3 workout without it, right?)
Good mornings
Imperial walkers
Overhead claps
Merkins
Mountain climbers
Mosey. To the pullup bar. Honest, YHC has been lusting over this pullup bar complex since he stumbled across it during The Bull a month ago. We had 16 pax. They all fit on this thing. They ALL fit on this thing. Amazing. We did some single count pull-ups all together. Then some dead hangs. Then some pull-ups. Then some dead hangs. Then a max set up pull-ups. YHC was satisfied…for this week at least.
Handoff to Tater Tot…
Mosey from Bull City Crossfit to skatepark hill. Pitstop at Motorco picnic tables and let”s hit 30 dips. The mumble chatter was still pretty busy but that was about to change.
YHC loves the Durham Farmers Market – great produce, local fare, food trucks, etc. But YHC also hates the Farmers Market – waaaaaaaaaay to crowded and YHC lost a good pair of sunglasses in September. This love/hate relationship makes YHC ponder how the PAX can instill a similar sense of emotional response at The Bullpen.
At the top of the hill – hit your six – flutter kicks for 40.
Repeating Bearcrawls –
1. run down the hill – bear crawl back up – 15 tuck jumps – low squat hold when you”re done
2. run down the hill – bear crawl back up – 20 jump lunges – low squat hold when you”re done – 10 count
3. run down the hill – bear crawl back up – 15 squat jumps – low squat hold when you”re done – 10 count
4. rund down the hill – backwards run back up – 15 tuck jumps – low squat hold when you”re done
YHC noticed a significant drop in mumble chatter at this point…
Hand-off Q to Troller! YHC is very excited for the usage of the Farmer”s market in the future – covered pavilion, lots of open green space, giant hill, and skate park – gonna work on a game of S.K.A.T.E. (google it) for a future workout…
After moseying back to the ReCity home base, Troller led us in a merkin pyramid with each set interspersed with SSHs with coupon(s). Those who didn”t follow instructions and picked up cinder blocks instead of bricks regretted that decision instantly. After that, we lovingly returned coupons to the brick pile successfully avoiding snakes and other surprises.
Mary consisted of a large number of Russian Hammers in honor of a forthcoming independent investigation of the POTUS”s ties to Russia.
COT
Moleskin:
– Great start to this AO!
– Speaking of the AO, gonna be amazing. Not just the pullup bar, there”s tons to do around here.
– Lots going on in June with events and F3 dads, and 3rd F learning opportunities with Special Forces veterans.
