The Billy Workout

Eighteen men began their day deep in the gloom at Jordan High School. There were four who showed up 30 minutes early for an EC ruck (Avalanche, Beano, Elf, and Shake It), and two rucked from home to the AO, each with 30 lbs in their ruck and a 35 lbs dumbbell on the their shoulder (Bushwood and Shovel).
The date was January 27, and Beano led the workout in honor of his father, who tragically passed away 23 years ago. Beano also invited each member of the PAX to complete the morning”s “Billy Workout” in honor of a personal male role model.
WARM UP:
* Side Shuffle Hop (x27)
* Good Mornings (x10)
* Air Squats (x10)
* Willie Mays Hayes (x10)
* Slow Merkins (x10)
THE THANG:
* THE BILLY WORKOUT (Note: all reps done by PAX in cadence)
o 25 Snatches (ground to full overhead extension) and 30 air squats
o Sprint the length of back parking lot and back to start
o 25 Snatches and 30 Air Squats
o Sprint length of parking lot and back (x2)
o 25 Snatches, and 30 Air Squats
o Sprint the length of parking lot and back (x3)
o 25 Snatches and 30 Air Squats
* WEIGHTED INDIAN RUN
PAX completed a Weighted Indian Run to return to the front parking lot of the school for Mary.
MARY:
* Flutter Kicks (x40)
* Plank Jacks (x25)
* Little Bittie Crunches (x27)
Today”s workout was an opportunity to briefly reflect on the men in our lives whose examples made us who we are today. It was also a reminder to be cognizant of our daily actions and words, as today we are the heroes/role models for our children.
