The Belated Birthday Q

It came a month late, but YHC was finally able to schedule completing my birthday Q.

In honor of that glorious day (a month prior), YHC decided to walk the Hillsborough faithful through the several phases of my life, starting from birth, through infancy, childhood, teenage-years, twenties, and finally thirties.

Warm up

Warm up was kept simple (yet thematic) with 37cc SSH

The Thang

The PAX then moseys form Weaver Street to the wooden bridge by River Park.

“Birth” – At the bridge the PAX reenacted the magnificent moment of my birth with a Tunnel of Love (the PAX held a plank along the sides of the bridge while a PAX bearcrawled through the tunnel). Once all of the PAX were “birthed” from the “tunnel,” the PAX partnered off and were told that between the partners they would make 37 laps around the parking lot just at YHC has completed 37 laps around the sun. While one PAX makes a lap around “the sun,” the partner performs as many of the exercise as they can; upon return, the partners flapjacked. Each exercise represented another phase in YHC’s life:

“Infancy” – LBCs for the first 2 laps (“years”)

“Childhood” – Mike Tyson’s for the next 10 laps. YHC enjoyed a lot of video games growing up, especially Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out.

“Teenager” – Squats or lunges for the next 8 laps. YHC played baseball (primarily as a catcher) and wrestled through my teenage years and into my 20s.

“Twenties” – Paula Abdul bearcrawls for the next 10 laps. YHC’s 20s were full of ups and downs that inevitably made me the man I am today.

“Thirties” – Partner carry for the final 7 laps. At 30, YHC started a family and began caring for other people in ways that are both challenging and deeply rewarding.

With minimal time remaining, the PAX lined up and Ricky Bobby’d their way back along the River Walk to Los Ballos Negros for Mary.

Mary

Mary was short and sweet: 37 Boxer Crunches.
