Tallest Man on the Hill

It’s been too long since YHC Qd the wall. I was totally geared up for it with almost VQ like butterflies. After being woken to what sounded like hail at about 4:45am YHC started to think about how to modify the planned workout if necessary. It’s a good thing. In the end, we’d have to make some on-the-fly adjustments to keep Bright Idea from actually getting lit up like an LED. 

YHC decided to run to the AO. No better way to get the jitters out. Arriving a few minutes early, Chum was setting up the shovel flag. (Thanks Chum!) John Boy did a lone ruck EC and pulled in soon after (way to get after it). Others pulled in including a contingent from the Southern Village crew. We started promptly at 5:45. Duplo’s timing has recently been completely off and he ended up coming in at about 5:46. We didn’t wait.

In total, 15 PAX braved the elements and chose a modest YHC workout at the Wall over what was likely a total Zook beatdown at the Mustang. Actual footage of the workout below.

Site 1: Picnic shelter 

Divide up into two groups. Group 1 goes to the benches. Group 2 goes to the permitter.

Site 2: Tennis Courts

Surfee – Bear crawl to a tennis court line and then popup like you’re about to catch a wave. Introduced in one of YHCs first Wall Qs. This one is great prep for surfing season. And a good combo of exercises.

Suicides – Sprint to sideline and mid court lines 

Crap Walk Suicides – Self-explanatory and awful. YHC was proudly among the 6 for this one.

Site 3: The Hill

The Everest – Lunge uphill with squat between each lunge.

Jacob’s Ladder – 7 times up the hill with increasing burpees each time.

(Note: At this point, the rain was coming down and Bright Idea said something about it’s always good to be the tallest guy on the hill when there’s lightning. Almost on queue, a loud and close flash of lightning lit up the sky. At this point, YHC valuing Bright Ideas safety and also being maybe the third or fourth tallest decided it would be best to modify the workout and continue under the picnic shelter.)

Site 4: Back to the Picnic Shelter

Indoor Jacobs with Box-Jump Burpees – Continue where you left off on the Jacobs with ladder up to 7. Modify burpees to box-jumps because there are benches and what else are you going to do with a bench.
