Stormtrooper training to Yoda’s Hideaway

Circle up and start warm-up: 20 IC Droid Hops, 20 IC Imperial Walkers, 20 Skywalker Merkins
 
The Thang:
Move to the steep hill. Notify Pax that it was time for Stormtrooper training. Rebar commented “I guess that means we get shot and fall down”. Exactly! Complete 10 sets of running to the top of the hill, fall to the ground (one burpee), then run back down the hill, fall to the ground (one burpee).
Feedback from Pax: after the fifth trip up the hill, Pax thought to themselves is there really five more trips up this hill!
 
Next up, time for the Death Star. The Death Star was created with one cone in each corner of the field and one cone in the middle of the field. We split into four groups – each group started in a corner of the field.
10 merkins in the corner, then Chewbecca crawl (bear-crawl) to the middle cone. 10 air squats in the middle, then Chewbecca crawl (bear-crawl) to the next corner. Repeat (10 merkins, Chewbecca crawl back to the middle) until you reach all four corners.
 
Next, grab two lightsabers and fellowship run to the top of the parking lot. Each Pax issued a concrete block and formed into two lines. The first person in each line took a lightsaber and ran down and back. Battling with lightsabers while running was encouraged. Before leaving, they would select a concrete block exercise for the remaining Pax. Exercises included: overhead concrete block squats, thrusters with the block, arm curls, goblet squats and blockees (burpee with the block).
Return the concrete blocks to the pile and then jog to Yoda”s hideaway (aka, sports concessions building).
 
At Yoda”s hideaway, work on Jedi strength training including:
25-20-15 body levitation using arms (in other words, dips). Between sets of body levitations, 30-seconds of hand stands (GOOD FORM LIKE LUKE!).
 
Next form two lines. The first person in each line took a lightsaber and ran down and back on the sidewalk. Battling with lightsabers was once again encouraged. Remaining Pax grabbed railings (while in line) to perform chest-to-bars. Then switched to merkins. Then switched to air squats. Then back to chest-to-bars.
 
 
Finish with Mary: 40 partner WWIIs, 2 minutes of X-wings / Y-wings (strangely similar to Boat-Canoes except legs are extended like an “X” or “Y”).
