Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with the workout, but it must be documented — Misery is the king of the slack call-out. This is not my opinion, it is an undeniable FACT. If you haven’t experienced a Misery call-out before, it goes something like this…you’re sitting there at work or hanging with the family and something happens….a buzz, a chime…it arrives quietly and unexpectedly, like the hush of the morning fog or the wisp of a dove’s wing……so you look down at your phone and you see it, you feel it….and in that instant, the sky parts, the heaven’s open and an explosion of noise and pressure erupt from nowhere and shatter the silence…there it is, your name on a creatively contrived piece of prose known as the HOP pre-blast, for all to see, with no avenue for escape…leaving you confused, desperate for a way out, left only with guilt and a guttural, self-loathing….and just as quickly as it arrived it is gone, and all that is left is an eerie, empty, nothing . . . . . . . . . . For those of us who have experienced this phenomena, we tremble and wince at the thought of it happening to us again, and yet, somehow, someway, we are left wanting more. YHC experienced such an event last week and I am still recovering. Godspeed my fellow PAX, for your time is coming…
5 PAX for EC 5k and 12 PAX for the ME. So we’re going to do Steel Mag-Dora-ias. Doras with steel in a not so flower like pattern around the church. Terrible title, but you get the idea..Let’s get to work.

- Repeato until DORA is complete – Each PAX did 50 reps of each exercise and 1 lap
- DORA x200
- DORA: 100 dips and 100 overhead press
- Partner 1 grabs steel and sprints 1 lap around the church with steel stopping halfway to do 5 burpees. Switch with Partner 2

- Repeato until DORA is complete – Each PAX did 50 reps of each exercise and 1 lap
- With a little time to spare, we ran to the steel pile in a “Catch me if you can” race with your partner. Partner 1 gets 10 sec head start – if Partner 2 catches Partner 1 they both did 5 burpees and then ran to the pile. If Partner 2 didn’t catch Partner 1 they both did 10 burpees at the steel pile. Teams that did 5 ended up doing 5 more just for fun.

COT: Today’s Q was about teamwork and pushing past limits. The faster you run the harder it is on you, but the less your partner has to do. It turned out that the pain was shared pretty equally among the PAX and all got stronger throughout. YHC is humbled by the support and appreciation given by the PAX to the Q, after the last rep is done. It really means a lot to know that the PAX appreciated the workout and the work that went into creating it. This is something YHC sees at every workout regardless of the Q, because it is part of who we are in Churham. Let’s keep it going. It is an honor to lead any day, but YHC felt especially grateful to be at HOP today. Thank you for the opportunity!
