YHC was in charge of a retreat for students this week, and wasn’t going to make it to any other sites after House of Pain. So, I decided to experiment with two new routines, and they didn’t disappoint.
Warmup:
- 15 SSH
- 10 WMH
- 12 LBAC and reverse
- 10 Merkins
- 10 Squats
The Thang:
First up was the conveyor belt: PAX split up into groups of 5 and spaced out across every two parking spaces. PAX then bear crawled forward two spaces (simultaneously) and, upon arriving to the new spot, would do an exercise. Person at the front would then run to the back to keep the conveyor belt going. Exercises where as follows:
– 10 merkins
– 10 monkey humpers
– 5 burpees
We then did the same in reverse, crawlbearing back two spaces and then running to the front ( aptly named belt conveyors) and did:
– 10 body weight squats
– 10 shoulder taps
– 5 diamond merkins
Quick run to pick up some steel from the pile, and partners split into groups by speed for Devin Hester vs. Usain Bolt: one partner called out an exercise, and then had a quick sprint race with their partner. One carried a coupon and had a short head start. Winner did 5 merkins, loser did 5 burpees. Everyone went through twice so they could have a turn with the handicap.
Mary:
- 20 flutter kicks
- 20 Freddie mercuries
- 2 minute plank hold – if you piked or went down, you did 20 penalty merkins.
COT and Announcements:
Well, we mentioned the Wolf, but at the time of this writing, convergence already happened. Hope it went well!
