Silent, But Deadly

September 12, 2017

WHEN: 09/11/2017
QIC: John Boy
PAX: Boyardee, Breach, Bright Idea, Bunyan, Chum, Closer, CO2, Dueling Banjos, Duplo, Fieri, Griswold, Horny Toad, Link, Marky Mark, MASH, Mothman, Mr Woodcock, Nescafe, Podrick, Riviera, Topper, Yanni

While a great PAX turnout down the road honored the 9/11 first responders and proudly represented F3 Churham at the Kenan Stair Climb, 23 PAX awaited John Boy’s VQ.

To say that this was a highly anticipated VQ would be a major understatement. The addition of John Boy to the Q sheet was an exciting development for the PAX and that excitement crescendoed into a fever pitch in the Thicket’s gloom.

And he was ready.

Every QIC has his own style. John Boy’s was, as the PAX termed, “Silent But Deadly.” The silence was the cadence, the deadly was what followed …

THE THANG

The QIC split the PAX into two groups to commence a lengthy Indian Run into the darkness.

The run concluded at a convenient stack of cinderblocks, for varied curls and overhead presses.

What followed involved an interminable hill that was lunge walked, bear crawled, and buddy carried. YHC can report that the mumblechatter was active – and at some points very profane – throughout this portion of the morning.

Next it was off to the Gazebo for two rotations of Dips and Freddy Mercuries.

Then back into the light of the AO for some Hammers (50 IC, in fact).
