WHEN: 11/02/2018
QIC: RG3 / Fieri
PAX: Bright Idea, FNG (Floater), Dueling Banjos, Griswold, Closer, Chum, Goat Cheese, Fat Cat, RG3

YHC filled the empty Q slot once it was clear we wouldn’t have any takers.  But now that the Mustang is open (a second AO in BC on Fridays) there are plenty of opportunities to partner up for surprise competitions.  Alas, I got on the horn with Fieri and we planned out today’s little secret event:

Warmup

  • SSH x 10 IC
  • Windmills x 10 IC
  • Jog to the Pollard Soccer Fields*
    • I cut the warm-up short since I had to move the PAX 1/2 mile to the Soccer Fields no later than 5:55.

Thang

Upon arrival, the PAX suprised each other and realized they were in for an AO battle to the death! Well, not really.

Part 1

Each AO forms a team for a round the field competition as follows:

Each team starts opposite ends of field and completes a specific exercise, then buddy carries 1/4 around the field to the next exercise station. There were 4 stations in all and the goal was to be the first team back to your starting point.   Twist: You can’t leave your station until each PAX completes the reps!

  • Point 1: 20 Jump Squats
  • Point 2: 50 Merkins
  • Point 3: 20 WWII
  • Point 4: 15 Burpees

Team Mustang triumphed but we all agreed that Zook cheated.

Part 2

Relay race back and forth across the soccer field.

  • Half of the PAX from each team on one end, other half on the other end of the field.
  • Each PAX sprints length of field and when they arrive, next PAX sprints, and so on.

Team Wall triumphed fair and square of course

At this point, the Mustang called it quits and the Wall moseyed over to the building adjacent softball fields.

Balls-to-the-Wall

  • All PAX except timer in BTTW.
  • Timer performs 5 merkins and then assumes the position in BTTW until all complete.

Mosey back to the AO for some Mary.

Mary

  • Ski Abs IC x12
  • Shoulder Taps ICx12
  • Crabjacks IC x15 (per Dueling Banjos)
  • Low Plank Hold
  • Bows and Toes
  • Ring of Fire (3 merkins)

Announcements

  • Shovel Flag Building Party at Casa de Rambler next Wednesday. Bring your own materials, equipment provided.
  • End of Year Award ceremony on 12/8 8pm at clubhouse. All PAX welcome.
  • Bright Idea weighted vest workout challenge now underway. Slack him for details.

COT

YHC wanted to remind everyone about the mission of F3 and the core principles:

F3 is a national network of free, peer-led workouts for men. We plant, grow and serve these groups to invigorate male community leadership.

F3 workouts …

  • Are free of charge
  • Are open to all men
  • Are held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold
  • Are led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary
  • End with a Circle of Trust

There are a lot of Q sheets that have openings in the weeks and months ahead.  YHC encouraged all PAX to step in and fill the slots since Qing is an important part of F3 and can be quite gratifying.  Just Do It!
