- After each round, in lieu of a 10 count, we let a few PAX share their answer to the question of the day “What is one restaurant you went to as a kid and thought was really fancy but as an adult you now know is just not good”. Some great answers here. Olive Garden was shared by YHC to start. I mean any place with fresh Parmesan served table side has to be fancy right? Lots of steak houses/buffets on the list including one all you can eat pasta place with sauce sitting out all day. I’m sure no one ever got sick there. Either way I thank the PAX for sharing as it was a quick way to get a glimpse of your childhood while also invoking a bit of laughter
Mary:
- Some new things I saw on tiktok. No idea of the names but they are suppose to work the hip flexors and make you faster
Announcements:
- This approaching Saturday is #the-battering-ram‘s fourth anniversary. TBR was originally set to launch on 2/4/17, but a water main break near Chapel Hill (leading to a temporary water ban), led the original site Q’s to move the launch until Saturday 2/11/17. @marta and @Timber were the first site co-Q’s at TBR
Moleskin:
- Cricket doesn’t like Cheesecake Factory.
- Stinky Pete reminded me of the place called Brown Derby in Tallahassee.
- Not many complaints about YHCs music choice (at least not out loud)
BoM:
So my message today ties in a bit to today’s question of the day. Marky Mark didn’t know it but he helped point it out. One of the reasons why I think as kids we thought these restaurants were so great was because we were actually there with our family spending time “in the moment”. We weren’t playing games or looking at out phones. We were talking with siblings, parents, etc, and it was time that each family member was being noticed. To tie that into F3, one thing I really like about this group is that it honestly gives me a guaranteed time during the day to come and NOT be invisible. I don’t have to talk much if I dont want to, and I can stay in the shadows if I feel like it, but every morning I am always greeted and before I leave the group always acknowledges me by name. For me, that is a HUGE deal. I mean I can easily go a day right now at work where I have no interaction with anyone. My son is getting older and needs me less and less. It can make for a lonely time for a lot of us. I think its just important as men that we have these times where we are being noticed to help show our worth and that we are cared for. (Insert soapbox moment about backblasts here ……. ) Anyways, thank you guys for just letting me have a time when I know I’m NOT invisible. Its much appreciated. Until next time Aye!
