1 PAX ran in the rain for EC (well done, Beano!) and 3 more showed up for a warm and soaking wet tune up before The Bull and a much anticipated college basketball championship weekend.
After a quick warm up with merkins, SSH, etc., we partner wheelbarrowed to the bottom of the hill and cranked out 25 diamond merkins before some double-pyramid work.
PAX crushed 1-10 double pyramids, alternating on the way up and down with pull ups and tuck jumps (PAX 1, 1 pull up then 1 tuck jump, while other starts with 1 tuck jump and then 1 pull up). We topped that off with a one-minute dead hang and a recovery 400. Strong work by the PAX here. Pyramiding is tough enough with one exercise, let alone 2 (and pull-ups and tuck jumps are particularly challenging!).
Then we backwards ran up the hill, hit 25 merkins, and then backward and forward-lunged down the hill, and hit 20 burpees.
Back up the hill, this time via the bear crawl. 25 more merkins at the top.
We then moseyed to the wall and put our balls on it (BTTW for the uninitiated). We did 5 sets: 30* seconds up, followed by 10** merkins after each set (*we did 45 seconds for the last set; **we did 20 merkins after the first set).
We ended with a jump squat pyramid, 1-10.
Mary consisted of Russian Hammers, high and low planks, J-Los, flutter kicks, and 6-inch holds.
The Bull is tomorrow at 6am! Rest up!
