Much discussion on chatham_chatter of mascots and the history of the Chatham Rabbit prompted a challenge to create an exercise called the Rabid Rabbit. YHC gladly accepted said challenge for the second installment of the escape from the Big House.

(Quick History: Chatham County was once renowned for its rabbits as both a fine dining entree and for their plush furs. The offsprings of these same rabbits are now centrally located in Northeast Chatham County where the Briar Chapel subdivision has emerged. Thankfully, the Chatham Rabbit has returned to its yesteryear glory by feasting on the area PAX grass, vegetable gardens, and the premium landscaping that the Ms insisted on planting in the Spring – likely on the hottest, most humid day of the month).

Now for a full account of events as they transpired. True story.

EC: Three PAX met for a parking lot session of Spartan training

Warm up:
SSH x 20
Slow Merkin x 10
Willie Mayes Hayes x 15
HR Merkins x 20
High Knees around the circle
Butt Kickers around the circle

The Thang:
Bear Crawl 50 yards downhill to the corner
Lunge Walk 50 yards

Mosey to the parking lot

The Rabid Rabbit
Partner up. Partner 1 suicide sprint to 2 cones. At the second cone crawl (r1: bear, r2: crawl bear, r3: crab) to the curb (about 15 yrds). Hit 5 erkins off the curb. Run back. Meanwhile, partner 2 does Dora 1,2,3. Switch Dora style until all partner exercises have collectively been completed. Exercises were 100 HR Merkins, 200 flutter kicks, and 300 curb hops.

(At this point, screams of pain from the PAX indicated that the Rabid Rabbit had succeeded in its intended effects.)

Indian-style plank race (loser hits 10 burpees and winner hits 10 merkins)

Recovery mosey back to circle for Mary (at this point RG3 pointed out that there had been no 10 counts. YHC apologizes for this miss, although arguably the slow mosey should count for something)

BOM: Thank you for letting YHC lead and make up crazy exercises. The growth in the AOs in Chatham (and Churham overall) has been cool to witness. It’s also a good reminder in patience. It didn’t happen overnight and required some faith and patience on the part of the OGs here. Keep the virtue of patience in mind as you’re tackling various challenges in work, family life, or any other pursuits.
