June 27, 2018

WHEN: 06/27/2018
QIC: Harlequin
PAX: Bandcamp, Treehouse, Selfie, Lopair, Cousin Vinny, Scully, Turnpike, Kevin, Bench, Homes, Pookie, Cheesesteak, Harlequin

13 PAX circled up for a VQ from YHC.

Warmup

  • SSH x 20
  • Willie Mays Hays x 10
  • Good Morning x 10
  • Arm Circles x 10
  • Reverse Arm Circles x 10

Then the PAX moseyed to the back of Culbreth and were informed by YHC that the workout would consist of circuits of 3 exercises executed 3 times each. YHC had no name for the workout but Power of Threes (naming credit: Pookie)  was mentioned and it felt appropriate. We began.

Circuit #1

  1. Bar pull ups x 15
  2. BTW 30/45/60 seconds
  3. Jump squats x 20

The above circuit was executed 3 times all done in cadence with only limited grumbling.

Mosey back to the parking lot where YHC explained the next 3 exercises.

Circuit #2

  1. Quick Feet (aka The Harlequin shuffle – naming credit:Bandcamp) until YHC ran out of breath, which ended up being about 20 reps . First round our timing was a little off, second round was much better.
  2. Slow Merkin x 10
  3. Body Weight Squat x 20

The above round was executed 3 times all in cadence.

Mosey to the track for the next circuit.

Circuit #3

  1. 100 meter run
  2. 10 burpees
  3. 20 jump lunges

The above circuit was executed 3 times OYO.

Slow mosey back to the starting line. Still on the track, we did another circuit.

Circuit #4

  1. 100 meter run
  2. 10 merkens
  3. 20 LBCs

The above circuit was executed 3 times OYO.

Short on time, YHC modified his plan and shortened the last circuit.

Circuit #5

  1. 50 meter run
  2. 50 meter bear crawl back
  3. 20 WWIIs

Unfortunately the above circuit was executed only 2 times OYO, but funnily enough, no PAX complained about missing the last circuit. We ended the workout and circled up.

No announcements.

YHC closed with thoughts on mobility. Not everyone is physically able to complete the workouts that we do, and those workouts are a lot fun. Even when muscles are sore, and bodies ache, let’s be grateful for our health, and the ability to be physically active.
