YHC is stoked for his first GoRuck event this weekend. Been training hard with a great group of brothers, and it’s time to get rewarded. Brought a little Ruck PT flava to The Piranha for one of the final tune-up workouts. Invited PAX to wear a ruck if so inclined, and made a few slight modifications for those who decided against just to make sure they got their money’s worth too. Believe we had 7 ruckers and one weighted Vesp. (See what I did there?)

Bellhop, WeedNFeed, Knope, The Exchange and YHC got a couple of friendly EC miles in.

Quick background: When Piranha launched in the fall, we called the loop in front of the school The Almond, an homage to The Peanut loop at our parent site, Tobacco Road. But YHC realized we were missing an opportunity for added hilarity and joy and lobbied hard to start calling it The Filbert, another name for a hazelnut. Because, come on, Filbert is funny. Co-site Q WeedNFeed blessed this and so it is heretofore The Filbert. YHC will fight anyone who says otherwise.

We got to know our friend Filbert quite well, as entire Thang was confined to this loop, roughly 1/5 of a mile. A good mix of exercises steered us clear of Sisyphean drudgery.

Continued prayers for my Aunt Lisa, who is still in ICU but slowly improving. Gonna be a long road. Still can’t talk and is very weak. Got a smile out of her on Saturday when I told her every F3 dude I know has said a prayer for her.
