And just like that, we made a long awaited return to the the gloom. 5 PAX joined YHC on a muggy Monday morning to get our heart rates up together for the first time in over two months. Some things came back quickly (Qdrenaline, sweat, heavy breathing), while other things (cardio for one) will take some time.
Top of mind for YHC this morning was making sure we stuck to current COVID-19 guidance from Churham leadership. At least 6 feet apart. No sharing of equipment. No usage of playground equipment, etc. So in the absence of some of the normal aspects one might integrate into the course of a typical F3 workout, YHC leaned on “KISS”. Keep it Simple Son.
We got things started at the park with a traditional warm up of SSH, WMHs, Arm Circles, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, and body-weight squats. After a warm-up lap around the field we settled in for three rounds of BLIMPS. (Burpees x10 5-count, Lunges x10 each leg, Imperial Walkers x15 IC, Merkins x10 IC, Plank jacks x15 IC, Body-weight squats x15 IC). We broke up each round with some more running and one short bear crawl. After 3 rounds of BLIMPS, there was a little time left for us to hit a quick round of Elevens – started with 1 LBC, ran to the other side of the field for 10 merkins. We kept going until until we completed 10 LBCs and 1 merkin.
After completing the Eleven set, we took our time moseying back to the shovel flag for a quick round of Mary and a socially distanced COT. Great to see you guys out this morning after such a layoff from in-person workouts. Good to be back out in the gloom!
