Sometimes a workout will catch you by surprise. It looks relatively modest on paper and even in a BB but when put into action it is simply soul crushing. Today was one of those workouts.
Whether it’s the synergies of the chosen exercises, the culmination exhaustion after a summer of pushing one another to the next level, the humidity, or simply a good old fashioned beat down, today’s Pax suffered mightily.
4 for EC for some Curtis hill repeats (x3)
Warm Up: SSH, Arm Circles, WMH, Slow-Count merkins, mountain climbers, then head down the hill via wheel barrow or overhead coupon carry
The Thang:
Partner time!
Partner A heads around the track via a designated exercise, Partner B does set number of stationary exercise, sprints to catch Partner A, then switcheroo and repeato until you make your way around*:
Round 1: Lunge Walks/20 Burpees (1 lap) [everyone got about 80 burpees in]
Round 2: Bear Crawl/25 Merkin Jacks (1/2 lap)
Round 3: Gorilla Walk/20 Tuck jumps (1/2 lap)
Pass the Q baton to Food Lion…..
Race time!
Split into 2 teams of 4 pax, each team carries battle rope above their heads, sprint around the track for 1 lap switcing hands halfway. It was a great battle but ultimately Team Subprime fended off a late push by Team Beano.
Pulses!
3 reps w/ 5 seconds rest between each set (x10) of: dips, pull-ups, Australian rows, top gun.
Sprints!
100 yard sprint x 4 w/ seal jacks in between (no rest). Oh, and everyone had to drag a huge fire hose behind them for at least one sprint
Mary!
40 flutters for the token Mary, but not before one Pax noted that “Next time I’m going to the Falcon.”
COT: Prayers to Food Lion’s relative Josh and AJ’s mother.
*Someone (name rhymes with pub-lime) thought it would be good idea to bring a weighted vest that could be shared amongst the pax. In retrospect, totally unnecessary.
