It was cold and dark in the gloom as day broke on the commencement of March Madness 2017. But that couldn”t stop 10 hearty PAX who braved the frigid temperatures to strengthen themselves once again at Paradise! The ghosts of Wilt Chamberlain and Dean Smith overwatched, and what they saw likely made them weep tears of pride. Here”s what we did:
Warm up: 25 x SSH,10 x arm circles front and rear, 10 x slow-count Joel Berrys (aka Jump Squats), 15 x slow-count merkins.
The Thang: Mosey to back side of school, pause for a quick 10 x burpees at the people”s circle. Proceed onward to the food court for Four Corners, made famous by the Tar Heels and Coach Smith during the 1982 ACC championships where the Heels outlasted UVA for the win, ultimately contributing to the initiation of the shot clock a few years later. Split into two groups of five and occupy opposite corners. 4 cones ~20yds apart in shape of a square. Pax perform one burpee at first cone and bear crawl to 2nd cone, 2 burpees and bear crawl to 3rd cone, 3 burpees and bear crawl to fourth for 4 burpees. Bear crawl back to 1st cone. Rinse and Repeat.
Mosey back to the SP / bottom of parking lot for Wilt Chamberlains: Sprint to top of parking lot (representing a really long basketball court). Do 100 merkins then sprint back to start for 100 LBCs. Named in honor of Wilt”s NBA record 100 pt game exactly 55 years and two weeks ago (Mar 2, 1962).
Move over for a single rotation through the Basketball Hoop of Fire. A circuit of 10 stations:
– Hill Run carrying a basketball
– Burpees
– Goblet Squats
– Freddie Mercuries
– KB Swings
– Block Ground to Overhead
– Tire Flips
– WWIIs
– Merkins
Rotate when the hill runner completes three turns up and down the hill.
Quick Mary: 25 x flutter kicks, 25 x LBCs, and a bout of boat/canoe to finish.
