Mile/Burpees/Mile/Burpees

July 20, 2017

WHEN: 07/10/2017
QIC: Coco
PAX: Bushwood, Peach, Shovel, Mumbles, MLP, Ram Air, Band Camp, EZ Pass, Gump, Au Jus, Cheese Splint, Shanks, Amphibious, Peppermint Patty, Beano, Hoppy, Pedialyte, Coco

EC: 4 PAX showed up for some early morning humid EC.  We ran a quick out & back mile to locate our turnaround point for the forthcoming ME.  Upon returning from a successful scouting mission for our ½ mile marker, we rotated through 5 reps each of the following approx. 15 times.
KB swings, DB bicep curls, sandbag overhead presses, bent-over dumbbell rows.

Once the PAX had all finally landed (get it..? get it..?!!) at The Eagle, we circled up to get warm.

The Thang
The challenge we endured at the The Eagle certainly isn’t new, nor is it one that YHC personally developed.  It’s a simple PT test variation that YHC borrowed from the boys who were required to pass it in order to begin H2, the 2nd Heavy of the F3 Custom Heavy/Heavy back in April in Wilmington.  They had 32 minutes to complete the following (after already having completed 28-29 hours of rucking under heavy weight & coupons). We simply had 40 (remaining) minutes.

1 mile run (out and back)
100 burpees (OYO)
1 mile run (out and back)
50 burpees (OYO)

Given the variation in speed among the PAX on this humid morning, some guys (like EZ Pass) finished their total before some guys started their last 50 burpees.   Those who finished went back out to sweep the 6 and then turned in a bonus 25 burpees (then another 10 burpees) before finally calling for Mary.

Mary
With 18 PAX circled up on – each man was tasked with leading their favorite core exercise to a 5 count in cadence.  We ended with a wide mix of core including: Heels to Heaven, LBCs, WWIIs, American Hammers, Frog Jumps, Flutters & more.
