I wanted to do a 7×10 station escalator  in honor of my dad’s 70th birthday today. As I was looking at a map to determine “station” location, I noticed how many PAX have homes clustered around the AO. And so we did a loosely planned tour of 7 PAX homes and shared their naming story along the way.

10 PAX showed up on time and Jingles made it 11 at 5:33, earning the PAX 3 burpees for each late minute.

The Thang:

An Escalator broken up via mosey to various PAX homes (and their naming story) along the way.

• Station 1 (@Splashback): SSH
  • Splashback named for the unfortunate result after dumping pork and beans into a port-o-john
• Station 2 (@Rambler): SSH, Slow Merkins
  • Rambler named after describing he lived all over the US. In other words a “Ramblin’ Man”.
• Station 3 (@StinkyPete, @RG3): SSH, Slow Merkins, Jump Squats
  • Stinky Pete named after the sheriff in Toy Story 2 (his name is Woody).
  • RG3 named after continuous injury at Flag Football games in the neighborhood. This was when RG3 played for the “Washington Football Team” and was frequently on the IR.
• Station 4 (@Germ): SSH, Slow Merkins, Jump Squats, Dry Docks
  • Germ named loosely based on his profession as a pathologist.
• Intermission: Dips x 15 IC, Derkins x 12 IC
• Station 5 (@Nescafe) : SSH, Slow Merkins, Squats, Dry Docks, Burpees
  • Nescafe is from Columbia where apparently coffee is quite popular.
• Station 6 (@Paperboy): SSH, Slow Merkins, Squats, Dry Docks, Burpees, WW2
  • Paperboy was always up early pre F3 and either biking or running early in the mornings (often seeing F3 Pax while he was out).
• Station 7 (@Kosher): SSH, Slow Merkins, Air Squats, Dry Docks, Burpees, WW2, Flutter Kicks
  • Kosher loves pickleball.

YHC’s dad turned 70 today. And I know that these days that’s considered pretty young, but I’m reminded on days like this that the time I have with him is limited. And that I shouldn’t take his presence for granted. So I’ll just remind everyone that today is all we’re guaranteed. So be sure to remember to reach out and connect to the people that are important in your life.
