Let’s make the most of our time –

Warm Up

  • Double-Time SSH
  • Merkins
  • Stretches

Main Event – Marine 16 WOD

Found this WOD on www.wodwell.com.  Made a few tweaks to it to incorporate more muscle groups/aches.  It’s basically a 16-minute AMRAP, with different exercises performed in two-minute increments.  Each increment involves a 20 meter sprint, followed by 16 reps of an exercise.  Continue sprint/exercises/sprint/exercises until that two-minute increment has expired, and then move on to the next increment:

  • Minutes 0 – 2: 20 meter sprint, then 16 Burpees. Repeat until times up.
  • Minutes 2 – 4: 20 meter sprint, then 16 Hand-Release Merkins.
  • Minutes 4 – 6: 20 meter sprint, then 16 Squats.
  • Minutes 6 – 8: 20 meter sprint, then 16 Mountain Climbers.
  • Minutes 8 – 10: 20 meter sprint, then 16  SSH.
  • Minutes 10 – 12: 20 meter sprint, then 16 Jump Lunges (each leg = 1)
  • Minutes 12 – 14: 20 meter sprint, then 16 Dips on curb.
  • Minutes 14 – 16: 20 meter sprint, then 16 (IC) FK.

Rinse and Repeat, but with 8 x reps this time.

COT

Time can be a nasty minx.  Like many of us, I deal with time in my job, and it is a constant state of stress for me.  Nothing is ever done quickly enough, there’s never enough time to apply enough quality control, there’s never enough time to get everything that we want to accomplish accomplished.

Time can also add stress on our personal lives.  Time flies by.  Our babies become kids, our kids become teenagers, another birthday comes and goes, another sad moment when we get retrospective and think about what we may not have accomplished.

I am so f-ing sick of dwelling on time and the anxieties that it creates in me.  We can’t control time, but we can control what we do with our time.  Be proactive.  Be productive.  Make the minutes count.  Don’t dwell on the past.  Don’t overly fantasize about the future.  Don’t let the anxiety of time prevent us from being cognizant and appreciative of the present.
