Lunar Halo, Dora and Rock!

December 27, 2018

WHEN: 12/27/2018
QIC: Sweats
PAX: Sweats, Scapula, Weed N Feed, Vespa

28 degrees and 1 PAX at 5:28. Scapula showed up and I thought it was going to be the two of us, but then Weed N Feed rolled in and did us the solid of pointing out the lunar halo. It’s also called a moonbow (surprised you didn’t know that). Vespa soon followed and we achieved the even numbers necessary for a Dora, so it was time to (lunar) rock and roll. Once we began our work, Pax took solace during their long runs in gazing up at the sky at the ring around the moon, which is said to portend bad weather. Unfortunately for the Pax, the only bad weather ahead was a chilly Dora and a soggy rock pile push and squat-fest.

Dora (work together to get to rep goal; one guy runs while the other guy racks up reps, then switch):

  • 50 pull ups
  • 100 burpees
  • 200 merkins

Run to third light (from playground towards the large field)

Rock Pile Action:

5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 reps of each exercise with rock of your choosing:

  • Strict Overhead Press
  • Overhead Lockout with Squat
  • Rock Curl
  • Goblet Squat

Mary (we almost violated my 5 exercise max Mary rule!):

  • Russian Hammer X 25
  • WWII X 20
  • Flutter Kick X 25
  • Box Cutters X 25
  • Plank for 1 minute
