Kenan Cardio

QIC: Shooter
PAX: Blackball, Dogwood, Slug, Foghorn Leghorn, Cooter, Mueller, Timber, Bouche, Appomattox, Au Jus, Elwood, Champ, Popeye.

In YHC’s continued quest for simplicity and minimalism, if a backblast cannon be written in five minutes or less, the workout was too complicated.

To wit:

Fourteen PAX gathered on a pristine April morning, a little chilly at upper 40s but clear with sun rising over our 45 minutes in Kenan Stadium.

After a warmup (SSH x 20, windmills x 10, squats x 10, merkins x 10, Carolina dry docks x 10), we repaired to the field at Kenan Stadium to embark on standard summer conditioning drill for Carolina’s football team (albeit we were in the dark and not running in 90 degree midday heat): laps around the exterior of the field, sprinting/running the 120-yard lengths and walking the 53 yards across. And instead of doing 20 laps, we did only eight.

Then we spread out through the aisles on the north side of the stadium and ran approximately five round trips up and down the stairs, doing 10 merkins at the top and 10 squats at the bottom.

Our Six Minutes of Mary consisted of 20 LBCs, 20 Freddie Mercurys, 25 WWIIs, 15 V-Ups, 10 burpees, 20 Heels to Heaven, 20 long slow flutters.

Our congrats to Bouche, who recently turned 40, and to Dogwood, who’ll soon welcome his second Shortie into the family.
