Keeping Your Head Above Water

May 22, 2017

WHEN: 05/22/2017
QIC: Avalanche
PAX: Amphibious, Avalanche, Boucher, Cardiac, Choo Choo, Cooter, Elf, Floyd, Peppermint Patty, PSI, Soybean.

The temperature was 680 F with an occasional light drizzle. There was a 0.0% chance of hypothermia and infinite reasons not to Fartsack. Eleven PAX kicked off Monday with a bang eager to dominate the week.

WARM UP (IC 20x):

Side Shuffle Hop, Windmill, Imperial Walker, Willy Mays Hayes

THE THANG:

Mosey to Creekside”s hand painted Eagle mascot, a location where 900+ of our country”s future stars cross each morning to get better and do good work. We attempted to replicate those daily achievements in what turned out to be smoke city for YHC. The PAX, spilling over with potential energy as they sprang out of their vehicles, leveraged a few of The Eagle AO”s most productive assets. Since there were multiple ways to go about generating a high return on our decision to not Fartsack this morning, the initial focus was asset turnover.
A Merkin Pyramid of 100 reps was a quick way to generate a return. SSH to loosen back up. No complaints yet so we continued to ratchet up and to the right.
Mosey across to the North Wall and pick your side. We protected our teeth as we alternated between the following exercises:
Box Jumps (30, 20, 10x) and Derkins (15, 10, 5x)
Continuing along the Pearls on a String theme, PAX Moseyed from the North Wall to Integrity Hill near the speed sign on the East driveway for the next Pearl, a series of 8s:
Burpees at Top (7, 6, …, 1x) and Monkey Humpers at Base (1, 2, …, 7x)
Crawl Bear, when finished, from the speed sign to first light-post going uphill and Bunny Hop back to speed sign. Repeat until each PAX completes a Crawl Bear. TClaps to the PAX for pushing the pace! Cardiac got a shout out for annihilating multiple laps.
Mosey around the driveway, through the East playground entrance, and across to the South playground where we divided into groups of 4, 4, and 3 for single-cycle group Pull-up rep targets of 80, 80, and 60x, respectively.
This is where the gearing component of the DuPont formula manifested itself. The three stations of pain included were Pull-ups, Swerkins (feet on swing, knees up to chest, and a Merkin), and Two Hand Touch Squats. Pull-up PAX was the rotation timer while Swerkin and Two Hand Touch Squat PAX generated AMRAP. We rotated through two full cycles and the multiplier effect was obvious. The Sleeper Cell Muscle Failure Swerkins came out of nowhere. Bang, Boom! Toasted! At least we are in the black with additional time on our side.
Mosey, not far, to our last Pearl:
Dips IC (20, 20x) and Tuck Jumps (20, 20x)
Mosey again, our final mosey of the morning, for a single Lap Around The Track and back to The Eagle Shovel Flag for Mary.

MARY (IC):

Boxcutters 20x
Russian Hammers 20x
Amphibious Flutter Kicks 20x
Boucher Ski Abs 20x
