Ok, I”ll admit it up front I was just trying to come up with a title for this workout and the song ”Just Like Paradise” the Diamond Dave version popped into my head. Full disclosure, I am a huge Van Halen fan, yes Van Hagar too. However, I can”t give too many props to the solo career of DLR, so I”ll combine some titles here to make it more palatable. Van Halen was everything in the late 70s and early 80s, I mean c”mon just look how cool these guys are. I remember bringing the 1984 album, yes the vinyl version, home and mom freaking out about the cover. My brother and I wore VH, VHII and 1984 out. Even today at 62 Eddie is still the greatest guitar player alive, don”t even try to argue that.
What happens next really happened, and don”t even try to argue that either.

We would start out by counting off by 2s in the parking lot.
1s would run a lap around the parking lot while the 2s did traveling burpees. When the 1s made it back to the 2s we would switch. We would keep switching until we made 2 laps around the parking lot switching from traveling burpees to lunge walk on the second lap.
Next we mosey”d over to a round-a-bout for a bear crawl/merkin merry go round. We would ICBC completing a merkin every 4 count. A quick recovery was all we needed to turn around and go back the other way.
Just down the street was a hill that had a nice little plateau in the middle, perfect for completing an exercise on, we would use that to our advantage. We would do exercises at the bottom, middle and top then run back down and plank it out till everyone was done. The list of exercises was burpees, Squat Jumps, merkins.
Next we kept traveling around CHS till we found some benches perfect for a dips, derkins, and a step ups.
Making our way back to the launch point we would use the steep hill beside the field to finish off the Thang with some more merkin/squat wheels.
It”s true what they say, it”s just like living in Para-Panama-Jump-dise!
