Isometric Dora

January 27, 2021

WHEN: 01/27/2021
QIC: Flowbee
PAX: Jinx, Stubb’s, Paperjam, Duelingbanjos, Brotox, RG3, Zook, Bump Draft, Duplo, Stinky Pete (Respect), Boyardee, Petri, Ironlung (Respect)

It was a morning of firsts at The Big House. Joined by thirteen of the finest PAX in our neck of the woods, YHC posted to a Bootcamp workout, posted to the Big House, and was the QIC all for the first time ever (and no, YHC still does not know how he got signed up for that last one). Oh, there was one more first; YHC scrawled the entire workout in permanent ink on his forearm because it sounded like a good idea at 0430 and then realized later in the shower that it will serve as an enduring memorial for the next week or so of our time together in the gloom, soap and washcloth scrubbing be damned. Fortunately, for YHC and the whole crew, Jinx was the fearless co-Q and kept things running more or less properly, not to mention the good humor and generosity of affirmation by the PAX in attendance, both of which were much appreciated.

COT

Announcements – There’s to be a snowy Jackelope tomorrow morning, 0530 at the clubhouse.  Next week, Tuesdays on ice continues with Ten-mile Tuesday

Theme of the COT was Gratitude. YHC reflected on what it is to be grateful. The two-part nature of feeling AND expressing appreciation for kindness. How we can reflect and be grateful regardless of our personal circumstances and that of the world around us, good times or bad. YHC feels grateful frequently, but expresses it less frequently than he should. YHC invited the PAX to join him this week in reflection on what they are grateful for/whom they are grateful to and to follow up by expressing that gratitude.  Finally, YHC expressed gratitude to the group for the warm welcome and friendship over almost a year since he was but a friendly new guy. The community we build here has made YHC a better man and constantly calls each of us to be better men.

Until next time, AYE!
