Is this all we’re doing today?

4 PAX started the day at 0500 for a ruck, starting at Hooker Fields and roughly following the final 4 miles of the Tar Heel Ten Miler (including Laurel Hill).

The ME started at 0630, just as the temps were rising and the sun was burning bright. YHC’s idea for the day was to lead a traditional Carolina campus tour, complete with stops at some historical spots.

Warm Up: SSH, Imperial Walkers, Body Weight Squats, Arm Circles, Merkins, Mountain Climbers

The Thang: Mosey from Hooker Fields to Forest Theater. 1st, 10 burpees OYO on the stage. From the main stage, the goal was to travel up the stairs by way of box jumps, with a set of 10 erkins at each step. After 4-5 steps, YHC heard one of the PAX ask, “is this all we are doing today?”…prompting a recognition that while the goal was attainable (and likely painful), it could in fact take a full hour! A quick modification was made to do 5 erkins at each step, and the PAX made efficient work of the task.

Mosey from Forest Theater to the Cobb tennis courts, where we did 3 sets of dips, and were reminded that 2.0 Potter does not like breaks between sets.

Mosey from Cobb courts to Davis Library, aka the Boulevard of Broken Dreams, where we bear crawled the full length of the breezeway.

Mosey from Davis to Wilson Library in Polk Place. There we partnered up and took turns doing step ups while the “timer” ran to the flag pole and back.

Mosey from Polk Place to the Old Well. The plan here was for all PAX to drink some water and recharge for the final stretch. Unfortunately, the well was dry. 10 Burpees OYO and we move on.

Mosey from Old Well to the Bell Tower with a pit stop in Polk Place for some additional dips. There, one of the Pax started to feel the effects of the dry well, and headed straight to the Student Union for some hydration with accompaniment (note- drink water, all week; hydration needs to happen proactively, not just right before or during a workout). The rest of the PAX finished up 3 sets of dips and started the run back to the AO. Back at Hooker, all PAX reconvened at the water fountains for some re-hydration before Mary.

Mary (led by the 2.0s): Heels to Heaven, Ring of Fire, Russian Hammers, Flutters
