This week was Week 0 of the 2020 IronPAX Challenge (IPC). Taking right from their website, “Ready to test your limits and “get comfortable being uncomfortable”? If so, IPC is the mechanism to do just that. Who is the strongest, fastest, most well-rounded pax across F3Nation? The IronPaxChallenge will hopefully serve to answer this question as well.”

YHC participated in the IPC last year, and it was a lot of fun. Four weeks of workouts for the competition, with an extra “Week 0” to introduce the concept and sort out any technical bugs with score submissions and whatnot.

This weeks workout:

4 Rounds for Time of the following

  • 50 Squats
  • 40 Big Boi Sit-ups (aka WWIIs)
  • 30 Merkins
  • 20 Bonnie Blairs (jump lunges) per leg
  • 10 burpees
  • 400 meter run

YHC utilized the softball outfield that Coxswain introduced us to to lay out a nice 400 meter track, and PAX completed all of the exercises in the grass along the 3rd base line.

Some smoking fast times at the top today (2 finished sub-20 minutes), and we got every single PAX in under 35 minutes. As of this writing, the national average was just under 31 minutes. Out of the first 1081 submissions, only 19 others (1.7%) had been under 20 minutes. Strong showing from the Churham Boys.

Its not too late to sign-up for the IPC this year. You’re guaranteed to get 4 awesome workouts throughout the month of September. There is a Regional competition as well, and YHC would love to see even better representation from Churham. You don’t have to be at the top of the leaderboard to participate; as always this is “You vs. you.”
