22 dudes (including one FNG) braved a brisk 27 degrees this morning at Bastille. Here”s what happened.
Warm up:
SSH x 20, cadence count
Imperial Walker x 15, cadence count
Arm circle x 10, cadence count + reverse
Squats x 15, cadence count
Merkin x 10, cadence count
Indian Run jog around soccer field in ttwo columns, back to big rock
The Main Event:
Pair off, partner one runs the loop while partner two does burpees. Switch when partner one completes the loop, repeat until each pair has knocked out 100 burpees. Plank until pax is finished.
Hit playground for 10 pull-ups for each partner. Repeat for 20 total.
Back to big rock – Partner one runs loops while partner two does Merkins. Switch and repeat until each pair has completed 200 Merkins. SSH when finished until Pax is done.
Finally, Partner one runs loop while partner two does LBCs. Switch and repeat until each pair has completed 300 LBCs. Plank when finished.
Yog back to parking lot for 5 minutes of Mary including Long Slow Flutter x20, American Hammer x20 and Adolphus plank/stretch with 10 bonus Merkins to top it off.
My mentor and namesake Au Pair once told me that his favorite workouts are in the cold, miserable dark of winter. Those are the mornings that make us all question our sanity, but also bring us together as a Pax – shoulder to shoulder, pushing each other to improve and get better.
I think Au Pair was right.
