Hosed by Sleds

March 9, 2018

WHEN: 03/09/2018
QIC: Food Lion, Blindside
PAX: Honey, Weezer, Cheese Splint, Uzi, Draper

Blindside started out the Q with a jog to the bottom of the really big hill (Curtis) where some heavy metal was waiting on the sidewalk.  Some pax were surprised to see weights in this location, while others were simply resigned to the pain had already anticipated.

Warm-ups were skipped to get straight to some shoulder presses and bent over rows.  (Someone suggested the F3 police would disapprove of skipping warm-ups, but the rest of the crew did not seem to care, this being Animal Haus and all.)

For the next 20 minutes, we partnered up and proceeded to take turns pushing 50 lb “sleds” to the top of the hill while the other partner carried a heavy dumbell overhead beside them.  Distance was roughly a half mile.  Not sure of the grade, but it’s steep.

After a few WWIIs for recovery at the top, we ran back to the AO.

With the energy remaining, we completed two rounds of Battle Ropes using 3 fire hoses while the rest of the pax performed shoulder taps, pausing to rotate positions every 15 IC taps.

We proceeded to the track for a Hose Race.  4 Pax raced against the other 4 to complete a 400 meter lap while running together with a hose held overhead.  This is a sure way to get everyone’s heart rate up.  10 penalty burpees to the losing team.  5 for the winners because they cheated by not keeping the hose overhead the entire time (or at least were unable to complete the assignment).

Needing work the “guns” a bit, half the group did 5 pull-ups followed by 5 around-the-worlds on the bars, while the other half did 10 donkey kicks.  We switched and repeated 5 times.  Next was 3 rounds of 10 Aussie pull-ups and 10 dips.

Finally to Mary:
Flutter Kicks (IC x 30)
Opposite Toe Touches from Plank (x7 each side)
Single Arm Plank with Knee Rotation (x5 each side)
