11 gathered, ice and cold rain promise notwithstanding.  We had neither, only some refreshing spray in the gloom.

The Stoics warn to avoid faith in anything you cannot control.  The weather is a good example.  What can you control?  How you react to the weather, of course.

So in essence it is the only thing worth having any confidence in, that is, your ability to cope, to overcome, and to persist.  Mondays are hard for many because they momentarily lose this confidence over the weekend as their momentum slows.  Then as you conquer tasks, you slowly build up your confidence again.  Many would see this as the root cause of the Sunday Scaries: your loss of faith in your ability to cope.  That malaise on Monday is voluntary, same as it would be any other day of the week.  Flipped on its head, anything you would do that would be considered noble is also voluntary.  You don’t have to do the right thing, or the hard thing, but you do get opportunities to do them.

Today we speed the train forward.  It is the only way.  The only way is forward.

Programming today consisted of some of the harder exercises in high volume, along with tough travel options up THWM.  Here’s how it went:

Bottom of THWM.  Acceptable methods of travel up the hill are 1) Backwards run and 2) Bunny hop.  At each juncture point (bottom, first gate, second gate, top of parking lot), perform 100 jump squats, 75 merkins, 50 WWIIs, and 25 burpees respectively.

Do that twice.

Interlude: 25 flutter kicks

To the handrail on TWHM.  20 cadence count dips, 20 chin up grip pulls, 20 pull up grip pulls.  Repeato with half the reps.

Mary: 25 russian hammer, 25 heels to heaven, 25 flutter kicks.

CoT: Thank you to Big Kat for your leadership through the pandemic.  Kudos to all on a great fundraising season for F3 charitable causes.
