18 PAX came out to celebrate the Honey Badger’s one year anniversary! It was great to have three PAX (h/t Subprime, Gordo, Bushwood) join us from Chapel Hill Without any pomp and circumstance, we got started right away.

The Thang

When the Honey Badger started, the skyline surrounding startex at City Hall was a bit different, a tower crane loomed over a hole in the corner of Morgan and Mangum streets. In the days leading up to this morning, Parking Deck 14 opened; as the city grows, so do the PAX at the Honey Badger. YHC thought it appropriate to spend our workout in the deck. The deck is a long deck with 7 floors, giving us space to do two different groups of exercises on each floor. We did an Escalator of the following exercises:

Jack Jack Webbs (Merkin, with a Plank Jack, then a sequence of air presses in a 1:1:4 ratio)

Mosey to midpoint of the floor (at the elevator)

Dan Taylor (air squat, followed by a sequence of alternating lunges is a 1:4 ratio)

Mosey to the next floor, repeato to 10:40.

After we hit the ten count sequence, head to the stair well for a tribute to Happy Gilmore, who was out of town for: Johnny Dramas x 60

Mosey to the City Hall Annex Plaza, find a spot on a bench or a planter

NMS

I’ve tried to think of something profound to write here for the one year anniversary of the Honey Badger, but nothing came to mind other than being thankful to be able to lead this site, and to serve the guys that make F3 so great. Working with Happy Gilmore to get the Badger running has been a great experience, and it continues to be. I am honored to serve you guys and our organization, and hope you’ll continue to come out in the gloom. Maybe I’m taking on more of the Honey Badger personality, and writing something profound just wasn’t meant to be. After all, The Crazy, Nastyass Honey Badger don’t care, the Honey Badger doesn’t give a shit.

If you haven’t seen it, the namesake video is below. It is not safe for work.
