“It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them.  They went out and happened to things.”   – da Vinci

7 PAX scorched the Woodcroft raceway for extra credit 5K, and with a devil-may-care attitude on this hot and soupy January morning, 25 took flight at The Falcon.

January is an important month.  For most, it signifies a new beginning, a fresh step in the right direction. The resurrection of will power and positive thinking occurs – as if suddenly the 2017 you is the “old, defective you” and 2018 you is brand new you –  and new resolve rises like a phoenix from the ashes to propel people, sadly, for about a week or two.

But not us.  What inspires me is all the energy poured into F3 by so many guys.  F3 helps so many develop a process to get better – starting your day early or getting into a workout groove – and soon we will see what driving force each of us has for the long run.  I can feel the momentum building, all mass and velocity,  guys banding together to hatch elaborate plans for greatness this year.  Can you?  Keep it moving!

Just remember that most people either do not care enough or are afraid to call you out on your weaknesses or your laziness.  Let F3 be that reminder that it is time to get moving and capitalize on all the momentum you are creating for yourself.  Happen to things!

Today the Q was about power: can you sustain force against a wall?; about endurance: do you have the lungs to survive?; about speed: can you turn it up a notch if you need to do it?

We warmed up in the upper parking lot without much fanfare, then stormed the walkway for some old-school BTTW.  2 minutes and then 10 man-makers, 10 merkins, with squats until all finished.

We then faced our partners for 10 jump lunges, while the other guy executed squats.  Time hack for about 3 minutes.

Repeato, only BTTW for one minute, and then 5 manmakers, 5 merkins, and then a 3 minute tuck jump/low plank face-off.

Partner wheelbarrow to the tennis courts.  Most got about half way, then we called it.

We then ran a lap around the Jordan soccer field and tennis courts, down near the entrance to the football field and back up to the upper tennis court.  I told PAX we had 2 minutes to complete it.  It took 4 minutes.  So with that data in hand, I challenged PAX to do it again but this time under 4 minutes.  We did it!  Kudos to Misery and MLP, among many others, for picking up the six and coaching guys up.  Hell of a job!

Next, we hit the tennis courts for suicides.  5 merkins at the baseline each time, and 5 jump lunges at every turn.  Time hack for 5 minutes.

Mosey back to the parking lot for Mary and CoT:

CoT: Prayers to Boucher’s parents, suffering from cancer.  Prayers to Sonar and family, expecting a baby.

Moleskine: Let me know if you want to be involved in planning The Bull this spring!

Let 2-Ply know if you would like to share site Q duties at The Falcon.   Great to see some familiar and new faces at The Falcon.  It is a wonder how much our region has grown.  If F3 means something to you, set a goal to bring out at least one FNG per month.  It will help you build relationships and network, and when you really think about it, you have nothing to lose.  Share this special thing we have with others.  Those in the past shared with us, and if you derive value from F3, it is your duty to share it with others.
