Still battling a wicked cold, I was pleasantly surprised this morning that I could actually breathe somewhat normally, so things were already looking up. The weather was a perfect 50 degrees, which YHC would gladly take after the amount of rain we’ve had lately. After a few fist bumps we got down to business…

Main Event
Head out of the clubhouse on BC Pkwy towards Bennett mountain. Hang a right near Catullo and catch the trail that runs back down the hill towards the dog park. (My initial plan was to continue the trail around great meadow and up the rocky hill near Woods, but some deep mud quickly made me rethink that idea.) Instead, we got back onto Great Ridge and headed towards Pollard. Quick pause for some recovery air squats. Proceed on Great Ridge to Granite Mill, then head to The Wall for 3 sets of dips / derkins. Head back to the clubhouse, while sharing some amazing war stories from college.

COT
Watching (yet another) Meat Eater episode on Netflix, I came across an episode where they were hunting for muskox in a small island in northern Alaska. This small island of ice is inhabited only by eskimos, who live a simple life of hunting, fishing, and trying not to freeze to death. One of the elders in the village, when thanked for the hunt and for cooking the meal that they had shared, said very simply, “If you share the things you have with others, you will live a happy life.” Let’s try to remember this simple idea as we approach Thanksgiving, and be thankful for what we have and share what we can with others.
