The Big Dance is not part of YHC’s usual AO rotation. But it’s a great site that I’ve enjoyed posting to multiple times.  Since The Big Dance has given me sweat, strength, laughs, fellowship, it felt like it was time to give back to the site and lead my TBD VQ.

19 PAX showed up at The Big Dance ready to attack the day.  YHC had ominously left 4 buckets of pain beside the car and received several “I don’t like the looks of this” greetings.  Rest assured boys that is only part of the puzzle.

Warm-up

SSH x 20 (IC)

Hillbilly x 10 (IC)

Imperial Walker x 10 (IC)

Moroccan Nightclub x 30 (IC)

Mountain Climber x 20 (IC)

The Thang

We took off down what I’ll call the neighborhood “loop” across the street from Forest Hills Park.  Instructions were to stop at each intersection and SSH until the 6 arrived.  At each intersection, as a group, PAX performed 10 merkins, 10 bodyweight squats, and 5 8-count body builders.  5 intersections along the loop plus an extra back in the AO parking got the blood pumping.

4 volunteers grabbed the buckets and we mosey’d to the tennis courts.  There we split into 3 groups for some bucket BOMBS.  One PAX from each group carries the bucket of gravel across the 4 tennis courts and back.  While he’s gone, all other members of the group perform a different designated BOMBS exercise.  One PAX doing Burpees, one doing Overhead Claps, one doing Merkins, one doing Big Boy Sit-ups (WWII’s), and one doing Squats.  When bucket carrier returns, he passes bucket to burpees position and joins the group in Squats position and everyone else rotates “up” to next exercise.

When everyone in the group finished a rotation (carried bucket and each B-O-M-B-S exercise), group waits for others to finish in People’s Chair.

Repeato

After second rotation, group BTTW hold (:60) then back to the parking lot for Mary.  4 PAX carried buckets and all other PAX bearcrawled back.

With about a minute left Mary was a Ring of Fire alternating Low Plank Hold / High Plank for a 5 count from each PAX.
