Your Mystery Qs decided to spend the morning celebrating Festivus since it is Christmas in July.  Feats of strength were the focus and the seldom, if ever used, Boulder Park was featured in the beatdown.

No disclaimer needed as no FNGs, so the PAX started out the workout by counting by 2s to get into two teams—the gold team and the silver team.

The Warm Up

  • Mosey to Boulder Park

The Thang

HorseShoe Feat of Strength

Team Gold and Silver backed up to each other at half way spot of the horseshoe court.

Each threw one shoe and score was kept accordingly:

  • 5  for ringer, 3 for sand, 1 wood; -1 nothing (body weight squats were done during waiting)
  • Then, each PAX would bear crawl to seatwall and do 5 box jumps
  • Sprint back to horseshoe pit and repeat.
  • After 3 throws each scores were tallied with Team Gold winning the first point.
Bocce Feat of Strength
  • Each PAX throws a bocce ball at the target then does 10 derkins on seat wall; body weight squats are done while waiting in line. One game consists of 4 balls thrown per team alternating trying to get closest to pallino to score one point.  After 5 games, Team Silver is victorious evening up the event.
Checkers Feat of Strength

Gold and silver checkers have mysteriously appeared on one of the game tables in Boulder Park.  Accordingly, the teams start a game of checkers based on their color.  Each player makes a single move on the checkers table and lunge walks to big boulders—namesake for the park–then 10 earkins on the boulders; lunge walk back to table.  Repeato.

Due to time constraints YHC had to call it with Team Silver getting the point as they were on the cusp of getting a king.

Final Feat

The Mystery Q continues to surprise with Quimby now taking the reigns for his VQ.

The PAX moseys back towards the Wall but stops at the bottom of the slope otherwise known as Whispering Wind.  Quimby let the PAX know that the next point would be won by the team that makes it up first—everyone on the team.  Team Gold took the point to tie things up.

Mosey to house under construction on Whispering Wind toward Encore.  The PAX paired up within their team a grabbed a cinderblock.  While the partner ran to the stop sign just before the Encore clubhouse and back:  AMRAP overhead press.  Repeto but with curls.

Moseyed back to parking lot.  Quimby wasn’t done—he voted for the PAX to do 10 burpees OYO before Mary.

Mary

Duplo took back the reigns briefly and had the PAX do a Ring of Fire x 4.  Finally, in honor of an MIA Yanni, Prom Nights closed out Mary.

Announcements / COT

  • Quimby headed up the completion of his VQ with the announcements.
  • Sunnyside is on for Saturday with Flenderson taking on the Q.
  • For a personal plug, Quimby is running for County Commissioner this Fall in Chatham.  His platform is about People before Politics—he’d welcome your feedback and support.
  • Quimby closed out the beatdown with a quick BOM thanks to the group for what F3 is doing.
