Last week was a failure on the PAX of North Durham, as we let down Sherwin as he was a solo post at Jolly Roger. I’ll take a big part of that blame as co-Site Q of this wonderful site. Hoping lightning wouldn’t strike twice, YHC took the reigns and threw out a metal EC.

3 PAX for a KB and sandbag circuit. 9 PAX in total would get out of the fartsack and better themselves this morning.

The Escalating Escalator

We moseyed over to the gates of the track, but everything was locked up. This put YHC in a bind. We kept running around Riverside, so that YHC could find a spot to perform his intended Q, and not have to wing it. Luckily, the small practice field at the back of the school was perfect, probably worked out better than using the track.

The escalating escalator is a workout that YHC has used twice previously at Vortex and Tobacco Road. YHC picked different PAX to lead different exercises, and they would lead that exercise the entire time. For example, in round 3 Magellan lead us in 15 single count merkins, and lead us in that exercise for each subsequent round. YHC did this for two reasons, so YHC didn’t have to count everything, and so almost everyone got a chance to lead and receive feedback on counting.

  • Round 1: 5 burpees, ¼ lap
  • Round 2: 5 burpees, 10 jump squats (YHC), ½ lap
  • Round 3: 5 burpees, 10 jump squats, 15 merkins (Magellan), ¾ lap
  • Round 4: 5 burpees, 10 jump squats, 15 merkins, 20 flutter kicks (Chowdah), 1 lap
  • Round 5: 5 burpees, 10 jump squats, 15 merkins, 20 flutter kicks, 25 air squats (Jeeves), 1.25 laps
  • Round 6: 5 burpees, 10 jump squats, 15 merkins, 20 flutter kicks, 25 air squats, 30 air press (Scrooge),  1.5 laps
  • Round 7: 5 burpees, 10 jump squats, 15 merkins, 20 flutter kicks, 25 air press, 30 air press, 35 LBC’s (Larry Legend), 1.75 laps
  • Round 8: 5 burpees, 40 SSH (Nightshift)
