DORA and BLIMPS

A quick look at the Q-sheet on Sunday evening showed an empty slot. As site-Q, YHC knew it was time to step up and deliver to the PAX on the first Monday of the month. As has become habit, YHC arrived at Waterstone with a loosely formed plan.

At 0530, the PAX moseyed down to the traffic circle for a typical warm up, consisting of a smattering of YHC’s go-to warm-ups: SSH, Imperial Walkers, Willie Mayes Hayes, Arm circles, slow merkins, Michael Phelps’, etc. Once Yadi arrived to the circle, to give us an even 10, we jogged to the park to kick-off the Thang.

Thang

First up – DORAs. We split up into pairs, after a failed count-off (thanks for the help there Buffay…) and worked through cumulative reps of: 100 Merkins, 200 alternating shoulder taps, and 300 body-weight squats – all exercises were single count. While one partner was completing reps, the other ran to the end of the field and back.

The PAX sped through the reps, quicker than planned, and so after an active recovery lap around the perimeter of the field, YHC decided to put the group through an acronym exercise, BLIMPS: Burpees|Lunges|Imperial Walkers|Merkins|Plank-jacks|Squats. PAX completed 2 rounds of BLIMPS together before moving into MARY at the field and then jogging back to the shovel flag.
