Warm-Up

SSH x 10

Imperial Walkers x 10

Willie Mayes Hayes x 10

Cherry Pickers x 10

1 burpee OYO for each Florida player that was drafted. Answer: 5 (yes, pathetic)

Main Event

Mosey to conduit, 5 burpees OYO, and then pair up. One partner picks a rock (the cookie) and everyone moseys to bottom of hamburger hill.

Before we begin. Switch rocks with another team.

Round 1: One partner runs up hill and takes a left on whatever street that is and runs all the way to boulder point dr. (.25 mile) Once they reach end they turn around and run to partner.

At same time partner walks while carrying cookie overhead. If PAX lowers cookie below their head, they stop where they are and do AMRAP merkins until running partner can get to them.

Once partners meet, switch who carries cookie and who does same run. Continue until rock reaches boulder point dr. LBCs until all PAX reach finish, 5 burpees OYO.

Round 2: First round went faster than expected so this time person with cookie takes 4 steps and does a squat while partner runs. In this round a lot of men were screaming other men’s names wandering where they were

Once all groups reach bottom of hamburger hill we do a last man standing competition with the exercise being the Moroccan nightclub. Nobody wanted to be first man out, so this went for a while. Finally called it at 100.

Return rock and mosey back to AO. At this point I mention something to RG3 about this being the perfect dad bod workout with the BC pool opening soon. Essentially lose a few pounds so there is just enough time to take the shirt off and get in the water so your shoulders are the only thing anyone sees from that point on.

Once we reach the AO, 6 or so rounds of an F3 style game of four corners. YHC starts and does 8 count, once complete he calls the name of a member of PAX. Everyone in the corner with that PAX does 5 burpees OYO. Everyone else does 10 merkins. PAX who was called out then goes to center and repeat. My thought at this point was because of all the running in the ME, by round 6 everyone would be calling my name and I’d be standing in a corner all by myself. To my surprise that was not the case, so the PAX may actually love running.

COT/BOM:

So the idea behind this workout was that life always throws you for a loop when you think you have it all figured out. Whether that be switching rocks right at the last second, hurting yourself during a workout, or something serious happening to a family member. However, during all these difficult time, there is always someone there who is still counting on you. In this case it was a fellow PAX doing AMRAP merkins but in life sometimes it doesn’t get that easy. In those tough cases, as men, we find ourselves in the position that we have to grin and bear it for the sake of our families. By no means is that easy, but being in a group like F3 gives us an opportunity to see us all giving that effort day after day after day which helps us all become better men when that time comes. And as much as I hate to say it, those times are coming. So do all you can to prepare yourself fellas!.
