CinDORella?

May 25, 2018

WHEN: 05/24/2018
QIC: Germ
PAX: Nightshift, Bright Idea, Slayer, Rambler, Singlet, Zika

First Q at a Metal/Gear AO hit a few snags but overall seemed to go well.  YHC was assured “like 4 people are going to show up” by Griswold. FYI Griswold 7 >  4.

Warm ups:

  • Overhead seal clap x 20 IC
  • Forward arm circles x 10 IC
  • Reverse  arm circles x 10 IC
  • Imperial walkers x 10 IC

The Thang:

Not entirely sure what you call a Dora with cinder blocks; heavy Dora?  Plus size Dora? CinDORella?

First round:  Get a partner, grab a coupon and overhead press while parter block bear crawls 4 steps out and four steps back (one of Zika’s cinder blocks did not survive the exercise).  Somehow Rambler Jedi mind tricked us into block crawl bears back. Swap roles and repeat as necessary to 100 team reps.

Second round:  Same partner, grab a coupon and bent over rows while parter block Everest climbers x 2 out and back.  Swap roles and repeat as necessary to 200 team reps.

Third round:  Same partner, grab a heavier coupon and air squat while parter block walks to the other end of the parking lot and back with a cinder block carried over head.   Swap roles and repeat as necessary to 300 team reps.

Stations:

The Dora went faster than YHC expected and there were more PAX than planned for so with the help of the PAX  6 stations were rapidly set up

  1. Blockee’s
  2. Plank with dumbbell pull across
  3. Cinder block swings
  4. Tricep extensions
  5. Weighted step ups
  6. Plank with dumbbell pull across (again)

7th PAX carried one cinder block in each arm to the end of the parking lot and back as the timer.  Rambler once again tried to jedi mind trick us into doing the whole loop with the blocks buy YHC was discreetly warned about Rambler’s mind control efforts  mid-workout and redirected the rest of the

PAX.

Mary:

A little over time at this point but I was assured by the PAX there was time for a little Mary.

  • LBC x 20 IC
  • Flutter kicks x 20 IC
  • Crunchy frog x 10 IC (Bright Idea)

Announcements:

Singlet thanks everyone who contributed to the Food Bank.

COT/BOM:

Thanks to all for helping me through my first Gear Q.  I decided to get involved at AMRAP after I unwittingly endured a Blind Side Q at West End.  I realized I was able to keep up with most boot camp work outs (Yanni’s excluded) but at that West End Q I couldn’t even remotely keep up so I decided to be a part of the AMRAP faithful and push my body in other ways and get stronger.  The added benefit was the great fellowship and mumblechatter with a small group of good men. Thanks to AMRAP for welcoming YHC and I look forward to SYITG soon. Aye!
