YHC had slacked the day before, “YHC has the Q. Looks like a perfect morning. We’ll do a tiny amount of traveling to celebrate the solstice. SYITG.” Jokes were made about defining tiny. But all joking aside, I did want to travel a bit to take advantage of Briar Chapel’s equivalent to Stonehenge “constellation park”. This would be a perfect spot to experience the gloom turning to sunrise (solstice week) high up on a hill overlooking the neighborhood.
At least one PAX did EC. In total, 11 PAX showed up.
Warm-Up:
- SSH x 20
- Plank Jacks x 20
- WMH x 10
- Runners stretch Left and Right x 10
- Slow Merkins x 10
The Thang:
- Line up to Ricky Bobby. Take a right at the bottom of the driveway. Stop at the trail.
- Keep the line for “Bataan Death Crawl”. Bear crawl in a line up the path. PAX at the back drops off and does 5 burpees and then runs to the front. Continue until each PAX gets a turn. Proceed to constellation park.
- AMRAP. 5 stations in the park. Count off by 5.
- Station One: Irkins
- Station Two: Box Jumps
- Stations Three: Dips
- Station Four: Boyardee Step Ups (Extra leg kick at the top)
- Station Five (Timer): WW2s x 20 (First round), SSH x 30 (Second Round)
- Proceed to “The Hill” for Modified Jacob’s Ladder to 4. (Time was running short)
- Ricky Bobby back to the AO
- Along the way we stopped for plank and then plank line of fire.
- AYG Sprint up the driveway into the Wall park
