WHEN: 06/27/2017

On an unusually brisk June morning (temps in the low 60”s), 25 Pax rose to the occasion and posted at the Vortex. There were several Pax slinging bells and running intervals for EC when YHC showed up at 525. June 27 marks the 12th anniversary of the beginning of Operation Red Wings. This was an operation where in total we lost 11 Navy SEALs and 8 members of from US Army Special Operations Command 130th Air Regiment. YHC thought it was appropriate to lead a workout composed of many common SEAL-themed exercises.
Warm up: lap around the fields, 20 Smurf jacks IC, 10 SSH IC, imperial walkers, windmills, WMH, and slow count merkins.
The Thang: Proceed to the corner of the field, 400m run (as fast as you want but the PAX were warned that this may not be the only lap), 2 minutes of flutter kicks. Lap 2: 400 m run, 2 minutes of merkins. Lap 3: 400 m run, 2 minutes SSH. Lap 4: 200m run, 2 minutes air squats. Lap 5: 400 m run, 2 minutes WWII, and Lap 6: 200 m run, 2 minutes of Burpees.
Mosey to the end line of soccer field, the PAX were instructed to run 3 full field sprints, a recovery 400m jog and a 50 m animal crawl (pick your poison, hats off to Boucher who elected to crawl bear!). With time dwindling down, the Pax lined up on the goal line for bodybuilders (aka, 8-count burpees). Fortunately, time only allowed for 5.
It is an honor to lead this group and it is impressive to continue to watch each other push themselves outside of their comfort zone.
