Elevenses, though somewhat popularized comedically by my like-statured cousins, the Hobbits, in one of the Lord of the Rings movies, is apparently a real thing in some parts of the world. It generally consists of light snacks and tea. In the good old U.S. of A., brunch is a more common platform. Brunch, interestingly (and allegedly), was “created” around the turn of the century in Britain when Guy Beringer wrote a column in Hunter’s Weekly titled “Brunch: A Plea”. Guy basically pleaded the case that brunch helps with hangovers from Saturday night carousing. He elaborated: “It puts you in a good temper, it makes you satisfied with yourself and your fellow beings, it sweeps away the worries and cobwebs of the week.” Thus, I hope you can consider today’s workout as brunch – I hope you’re now in a better mood, more satisfied with yourself and fellow men, and that your worries and distractions have been eased. Thank you again for your support today. Until next time —
