Breakfast at Wimbledon

July 8, 2019

WHEN: 07/05/2019
QIC: Zook & Mothman
PAX: Stubbs, Duplo, Rambler, Bright Idea, Splash Back, Griswald, Germ, Goat Cheese (respect), Politico, Scribbler, Angelina Ballerina, Caliper, Joystick, Blitzen, Tic Toc, Bunyan

The 5th of July is a tough day to get out of bed to hit an F3 workout. A random meeting at Jersey Mikes between the 2 people who signed up to Q on this fine day led to an idea of a themed convergence. For this day, we would need all whites (has to be a BC F3 first) for an F3 style of Breakfast at Wimbledon

WARM-UP

  • Everyone given a tennis ball to keep for the workout. I then told the PAX how at age 12 I had the privilege of being a ball boy at the US open in NYC. For those that believed this they had to do 6 burpees, for those that know a lie when they hear one, only 5
  • SSH
  • Arm circles but in a figure eight. Coming forward practice that forehand, coming back, practice that backhand
  • Lunge Medley

THE THANG

  • Mosey to tennis courts of course
  • Andre Aggasi’s — sprint to end of first court, 5 merkins, back 5 merkins, repeato. do same to end of second court, then same to end of 3rd court
  • Practice throwing tennis balls to teammate. (evidently this is most important thing a ball boy does according to the internet — groups of 3. 2 at one end of court, 1 at other, 1 partner throws ball to other partner and lung walks to them. Other partners are doing squats until everyone has gone twice
  • Musical chairs with tennis ball. PAX rolls tennis ball to net. On go, Q calls out mode of travel and everyone goes and gets a ball. If you dont have one you are out and you do LBCs until we crown a champion. (younger PAX seemed to like this — note to self for Sunnyside)
  • Mothman takes over for some Tennis Trivia (Sampras, Federed, or Nadal). 2 teams. right answer, 10 merkins, wrong answer 10 burpees. We did a lot of merkins but also learned kids have no idea about tennis trivia

Mary

  • American Hammers
  • Boat/Canoe

Announcements

  • Big event coming in the fall for BC raising funds for a good cause. More details to come from Bunyan and Griswold

So one thing that has been sticking with me lately is something I heard on ESPN. “A lot of people will bring flowers to your funeral, but how many will bring soup to you when you are sick”. Not sure why that has stuck with me but I have been thinking about it a lot. Hopefully we all have someone to bring us that soup and I encourage everyone to try and be the friend that does that. Its hard to do sometimes but I don’t think Ive ever heard someone say they regret that extra effort they made to make someone else happy. Until next time. Aye!
