Valient Thorr — one of YHC’s all-time favorite bands — is doing a short tour with its original drummer and bass player.  (Raleigh Nov12 if anyone wants to join me.)   YHC decided to celebrate by jamming some VT during this morning’s punishment session.

YHC adores this band first and foremost because they seriously shred.  Additionally, the music has an incredibly positive message, they’re all super nice guys, and they’re all originally from from NC.

Weenie won the contest with 50 burpees in ~3 minutes.

Buddy up and mosey to monkey bars for 3 sets of 10 pull-ups, buddy assist as necessary.

Mosey to shelter for up/down cliff hanger merkins, two sets of 10.

Then derkin / dip combo sets of 15 and 10.

Mosey to the hill adjacent to the tennis courts for a quickie buddy DORA:

• Backwards run up the hill, backwards backwards run back down.
• 200 Joel Berries — jump squat to a jump shot.
• 200 LBCs
• VT jams — Nomadic Sacrifice, Steeplechase, Tackle the Walrus — motivated the PAX.
• Backwards hill run + jump squats was a particularly nasty combo.

Most PAX pairs finished.
