Battle of the Puebla

Beautiful 62 degree morning with a light breeze. Low humidity – good times in the gloom!

Cinco de Mayo is upon us so it is time to remember that this holiday is not a major holiday in Mexico and only commentates the Battle of the Puebla.  This battle was significant because it represented the French losing their attempt attempt to conquer Mexico which had implications on the US Civil War.  The French had planned on using Mexico to trade cotton for weapons to the Confederacy.

Thang #1 – The French Set Sail for Mexico

Travel up the parking lot switching three modes of travel: bear crawl, crab walk, lunge walk.

Plank it out until everyone arrives.

 

Thang #2 – Conquer the palace in Mexico City

Pax encircled the stadium ticket office in three groups.  Group #1 – perform dips, Group #2 – balls to the wall, Group #3 – upward rows.  Switch stations – perform 2 rounds of each.

 

Thang #3 – Search the fields for the President. But the Mexican people were stubborn as donkeys and refused to obey.

Mosey back to the top of the parking lot.  Travel down the parking lot using crawl-bear as the method of travel.  Stop at each parking line and perform two donkey kicks.

Half way down the lot, group up and form two lines for Ricky Bobby.  Travel as two lines down to our second favorite hill.

 

Thang #4 – The Battle of the Puebla – French forces tried multiple times to attack a much smaller Mexican army which was entrenched in La Puebla de Los Angelos.

Round 1 – Five Burpees, then sprint up the hill.  Cinco burpees at the top (which have 5 squats and 5 merkins).

Round 2 – Five Burpees, then backwards run up the hill.  Cinco burpees at the top (which have 5 squats and 5 merkins).

Round 3 – Five Burpees, then lunge walk up the hill.  Cinco burpees at the top (which have 5 squats and 5 merkins).

Round 4 – Five Burpees, then bear crawl up the hill.  Cinco burpees at the top (which have 5 squats and 5 merkins).

Round 5 – Five Burpees, then army crawl up the hill.  Cinco burpees at the top (which have 5 squats and 5 merkins).

Mosey to the front of the school.

 

Thang #5 – Return to France to face Napoleon III after our defeat.

Circle up around the round-about.  Take turns yelling out an exercise and then running around the circle – finishing at your original spot.

Dry docks, burpees, flutters, box-cutters, gas pumps, dead bugs, merkins, WWIIs, Rocky WWIIs, WWIs, burpees, crabcakes.

 

Run back to the AO.
